Growing Older

Accepting myself in my senior years has been an ongoing challenge. For me, it has to involve letting go of comparisons to who I once was and honoring who I am now. My slower pace, changing body, and shifting roles aren’t failures, but signs of a life full of experience and lessons learned.

The more I accept myself, the less concern I have for others’ opinions and the more room I have to explore what it means to be fully me. Some days my acceptance feels strong, but on other days, like today, it’s simply going to look like being kind to myself and finding the joy in the moments.
