Getting What We Want
We spend a lot of time chasing things we’re sure will make life more fulfilling or interesting. Then we get it. At first, there’s a rush, a feeling that things are somehow better. But then reality sets in and the thing we wanted so badly turns out not to be the blessing we thought.
It doesn’t mean we were wrong to want it. We just didn’t see the fine print. We often fall for the idea of something, but not the everyday work that comes with it. Wishing we hadn’t gotten what we wanted doesn’t make us ungrateful. It makes us honest. And that honesty is usually the first step toward choosing better next time. Here’s hoping anyway.
