Cleaning My Lens
I am a news junkie. Day and night, my inbox fills with happenings from near and far. The news is more often than not troublesome. Natural disasters, political turmoil, economic collapse bombard me and can easily chip away my positive mindset and any hope I might have for lasting decent outcomes. What’s the plan?
Set boundaries: I don’t need updates every hour. There are far too many voices spewing doom and gloom. Refine media accounts with truth and positivity as my gatekeepers.
Be Grounded: I need to intentionally fill my mind with things that are positive, moral and uplifting. Let passages like Philippians 4:8 be the lens that filters my vision of the world and my role within it.
Remember: Most people are quietly decent, and most days pass without catastrophe. Motivate myself to be an active agent instead of a passive receiver.
The news I connect with should motivate and fuel me. If it doesn’t then something needs fixing.
